This was a quite enjoyable read. The illustrations were awesome and very fitting for the Halloween period.

Hopeless, Maine - Personal Demons - says it all. Salamandra is a little girl that seems orphaned. She is taken in and then it's discovered she has these unusual powers. So off to the Orphanage with her. All alone and friendless, Salamandra feels awful and takes off. She sees a little girl, beautiful with blonde hair and ribbons everywhere. Salamandra is excited but sceptical about this little girl wanting to become her friend.

The little girl wants Salamandra to do bad things and she won't do it. Other children in the Orphanage seem to be talking to themselves and Salamandra worked out that they are speaking with the little blonde girl.

Salamandra chooses to help get rid of the naughty little blonde girl and find some real friends.

This is a great graphic novel, with fantastically dark illustrations fitting to the story. Can't wait to read the next one.

Graphic Novel Review: Vampire Academy (Graphic Novel #1) by Richelle Mead

I absolutely loved this version of Vampire Academy.  I am officially a fan of Graphic Novels and can't get enough.  This one in particular was awesome, full of beautifully illustrated action scenes and told the story to a T from the original book.

Rose is a Dhampir, not human, but not vampire (Moroi) either.  A perfect mixture of both that can protect the vampires once she graduates into Guardian status.  This starts with Rose and her best friend Lissa (a Moroi)on the run.  Rose thinks she is protecting Lissa, but they are found and made to return to St Vladimir's Academy.

Rose is trying to work out what Lissa's actual abilities are and how she is connected to her.  All the while, Lissa is being attacked and ridiculed and Rose wants it to stop.

Of course there is Dimitri also.  He is so very handsome in this graphic novel and is the beginning of the forbidden love between Dimitri and Rose.

Awesome, I highly recommend this to all Vampire Academy fans.  A must have and a perfect addition into the Vampire Academy series.

Graphic Novel Review: The Pendulum by Anne Elizabeth

This series is awesome. I love the graphics and the story was action packed and full of drama.

Tia is full of borrowed magical powers and when she decides to give them back everything goes wrong.  Tia gets kidnapped in order for a race to be rescued by her powers against a Dictator. But they learn quickly that her powers are gone.

They help Tia go on a quest to recover them and she discovers a whole lot about herself along the way. Will Tia rescue the race and rid them of the Dictator? And recover her powers?

This reminds me a little of Richelle Meads Storm Born, but on a different storyline. Strong female character kicking but! Very good and highly recommended.

Graphic Novel Review: This Haunted World Issue 2 by Mark Powers

Issue 2 follows Daniel still on the run, trying to get to Hiroshima and work out what in the world is going on.  He has called on his old friend to help him get there.

In Fort Wayne, Samantha witnesses a strange weather phenomenon.  A Tornado is unleashed in her book store. 

In Washington DC, a strange fellow brings his own creatures to destroy humanity.

This issue has amazing graphics, the story line is bringing us closer to the overall picture of what is happening in Hiroshima.  I can't wait to see what Daniel finds in Issue 3.

This is another fantastic issue of the Storm Born series. Love that the book has been made into a graphic novel series, we get to see illustrations of the characters and scenes that are just amazing.

This issue picks up where issue 3 left off with Eugenie being captured by Aeson. Her knight in shining armor comes to her rescue and helps Eugenie escape the evil clutches of King Aeson. Distraught with what Aeson told her about the prophecy and what is involved with it, Eugenie returns home only to have it all confirmed. What can Eugenie do to stop the prophecy from coming true? She is being attacked from everywhere, but when her Mother is hurt in the process, Eugenie cracks and her true powers escape. Eugenie blacks out.....

We will have to wait for the next issue to see what happens to Eugenie and I can't wait to see it. Another fantastic issue and graphics are amazing too.

Being the first issue, everything is a little intriguing and new. The graphics are fantastic and the storyline is just beginning. What a way to start the series.
Daniel is being held in prison because his finger prints have been found in more than one crime scene. He is ghost hunter and is trying to make a break through, but got caught instead.
Things are getting strange and Daniel wakes in his cell. Everybody is dying and he doesn't know why.
In a museum a bomb is detonated and terrorists are to blame. But it isn't a person responsible, it's being haunted.
Can't wait to read the next installment to see where it goes.

Thank you to Sea Lion Books for allowing me to review this next issue of Pariah.

This issue follows Franklin Hyde and his back story.  It explains why he has gotten all the Vitro's together and his ultimate plan to  make everybody happy.

Franklin was locked away because his parents are in the political arena and they were concerned about their image of having a vitro son.  in the end this turned him against them and gave him the reason to leave.

This issue was excellent, Franklin appeared in the previous issues and it was great to know his story and what the plan was.  If only everything goes to plan.....

Can't wait to read the next issue.
