On My Wishlist #2

On My Wishlist hosted by Workaday Reads

On My Wishlist is a weekly meme started by Book Chick City and is now hosted by Workaday Reads. Every week I'll introduce you to a book that’s on my extensive wishlist. Sometimes it’s a new book, but quite often it’s an older book. Let me know if you've read it, and what you think. Please also join in and link up your On My Wishlist post each week.

Moonlight and Vines by Charles De Lint

Return to Newford
Familiar to Charles de Lint's ever-growing audience as the setting of the novels MoonheartForests of the HeartThe Onion Girl, and many others, Newford is the quintessential North American city, tough and streetwise on the surface and rich with hidden magic for those who can see.
In the World Fantasy Award-winning Moonlight and Vines, de Lint returns to this extraordinary city for another volume of stories set there, featuring the intertwined lives of many characters from the novels. Here is enchantment under a streetlamp: the landscape of our lives as only Charles de Lint can show it.

I started reading Charles De Lint a long time ago and fell in love with Newford and it's characters. I still haven't managed to read them all though and I really like the cover of this one, it's quite unusual.

  1. Is it sad that I've never heard of these? Probably, shame on me! I quite love this cover too, I'll have to check into this series. Hope you get to read it soon :)

  2. I first discovered De Lint in high school, browsing through bookshelves while babysitting. However, fantasy wasn't my thing then so I didn't read much. I should seek him out again now that my tastes are more varied.

  3. I love Charles de Lint books, although I have read not enough of them. This looks good. Thanks for linking up.
